Founded in 1975, it was one of the first private tuition based schooling institutions in the United States. It is the oldest of its kind in the United States.The idea of tutoring is to help children and teens learn a set of subjects, thus making them able to live life with more confidence and to build their self-esteem. The program is a daily morning session.Holyoke House for Tutoring has four main branches. One branch is the Adult Educational Programs Branch. This is a program for adults who are college bound or who have graduated from college but do not wish to attend college. It offers assistance with such studies as high school dropout, GED, college preparation, and adult literacy programs.Another branch is the Young Women's or Business Development for Tutoring program. It is designed for those women who want to advance their careers in some field of work. The students in this program have to be masters of business administration and vice versa. This program caters to women who would like to further their careers in some business setting.The third branch is the Baccalaureate or Boarder Schools. This is a program that caters to students who wish to continue their studies after they graduate from high school. Some of the fields in which this branch operates include college admissions, school admissions, career education, college pre-academic requirements, and college preparation and all other academic programs.The fourth branch is the Accelerated Program for those students who would like to complete their coursework in less time. In this program, they have to be in school for thirty hours in order to complete their studies.Every day of the week there is a program available.
